LA BELLE NON-CHALANTE

by Joy Bawab

Inspired by Balthus’ Girl with Cat (1937), this painting reimagines the silent mystery of the feminine figure through a more contemporary and expressive lens.

Displayed in a luxurious hotel suite, the artwork brings a refined modern touch to the space while creating an atmosphere of emotion and contemplation.

The story behind the painting portrays a young woman lost in thought about her future, her existence, and the path she wishes to create for herself. Through her gaze and posture, she reflects on her passions, ambitions, and life goals ! capturing the delicate moment between dreaming and becoming.
